On May 5, the Discussion Club of "Caravan of Knowledge" hosted a seminar on “Seven phases of socio-political development: politometrics instead of political alchemy” by professor A.A. Gafurov. Dr. Gafurov has a long-term experience working on politometrics theory and his work has attracted attention at the international level.
On April 21, the Discussion Club of "Caravan of Knowledge" hosted a seminar on "Ethnopolitical processes and interethnic relations in Central Asia: history and modern times". Ravshan Nazarov presented his report on the subject. This topic did not leave anyone indifferent and it became obvious that one seminar was not enough to discuss such an interesting and multifaceted topic in full.
On March 31, the Discussion Club of "Caravan of Knowledge" hosted a seminar on the subject of “Afghanistan: nation, state, war". Independent analyst Rustam Makhmudov presented his views on the matter based on an analysis of the "nation" term evolution and a comparison of the modern and postmodern approaches to the nation phenomenon. The analyst gave an interesting historical overview of the development of the modernization processes and traditionalism of Afghanistan.
On March 10, the Discussion Club of "Caravan of Knowledge" hosted a seminar on the subject of "Days bygone. The strength and the powerlessness of historical memory". Professor Bakhodir Ergashev presented his report for the discussion. The participants focused mainly on the latest (Soviet) history. A very heated discussion followed revealing the complexity and sensitivity of an unexplored phenomenon of historical memory.
On March 3, the Discussion Club of "Caravan of Knowledge" hosted a discussion on the topic "The Jadids movement and The Turkestan Autonomy: a century later". Professor Saidakbar Agzamkhodzhaev presented his report at the event. The talk focused on century-old events related to the movement aimed at society modernization and a change in the socio-political life of Turkestan after the Russian empire collapse.
On February 10 2018, another El Clasico style seminar was hosted by Dr. Bakhtiyor Babadjanov for the Discussion Club of " Knowledge Caravan". The subject of "Islam and democracy: historical and modern interpretations of theologians and reformers” provoked a heated discussion. The topic itself is interesting, complex and relevant whilst the ongoing processes can be truly fate defining.
On January 13 2018, the Discussion Club of NNRI "Knowledge Caravan" hosted a discussion "The significance of civil society in the West and in the context of the post-Soviet legacy". Professor Mukimjon Kirgizboev presented his report. The following key points (albeit not indisputable) summarise the essence of the seminar.
The NNRI “Knowledge Caravan” celebrated the upcoming New Year celebration by holding an El Clasico style seminar on the 23rd of December 20117. Dr Bakhtiyar Babadjanov presented his report titled: "From migrant-phobia to migrant-ology: the social stigma and problems of migrant workers adaptation". The myth of the migrants’ vulnerability to recruitment by the Islamic extremists was debunked on the basis of facts obtained by the author during his field research in a number of Russian cities. Simultaneously, the migrant workers phenomenon revealed the complexity of the discussed problem.
On December 2, an academic seminar on "Regional Integration in Central Asia: Theory, Experience, Prospects" was held in the Discussion Club of “Knowledge Caravan". The seminar was focused on the theoretical, conceptual and practical aspects of a complex and contradictory process of integration in the region, since its independence in 1991 until present.
On November 11, 2017 a recurrent meeting of the Discussion Club of "Knowledge Caravan" took place. Our caravan is being further replenished by interesting scientists and ideas. The meeting discussed the content and viability of the Eurasian concept. Olga Kobzeva, Ph.D, presented her report on the matter of interest.
